Red Fleet Reform
Bogan Shire Council has been advised by the ‘Red Fleet Reform’ that from July 1, 2027, ownership and management of the states' firefighting fleet will transfer from local councils to the Rural Fire Service (RFS). After debating for a long time whose responsibility it was for ownership of fleets, management of fleets and operational responsibilities. This gives the RFS reassurance that maintenance standards, condition of equipment and firefighter safety will show more consistency across a state coordinator, modernising fleet management and strengthening our emergency response capabilities.
Donation from Council for America trip
At the last council meeting, council resolved to make a donation toward the four children from Nyngan Pony Club that have been invited to Pennsylvania America for an elite three-week training program with Olympic medallist Philip Dutton. Philip grew up in Hermidale in his younger years and now rides for America, competing in the Olympics in his 60s. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for these kids and council is proud to contribute to their journey.
Roadworks
