The Tigers’ run of outs has continued going down 25 –18 to the Dubbo Macquarie Raiders at Larkin Oval on Sunday, June 28.

In front of a huge crowd the boys did pretty much what they have did all year - we looked the winners for much of the game only failing to get the job done when it mattered.

Macquarie lost a player for the match 10 minutes before half-time when their backrower was sent off for striking, leaving the Raiders one short for the remainder of the game. I think the Tigers thought it was going to be easy after that and we went away from what had been working for us.

We started going to sideways instead of playing direct and paid the price,

The Tigers had a mile of chances to win the game but just failed to capitalise on their chances. In the forwards Jaymn Cleary was strong as was big Vinny Leuluai. Aidan Bermingham was another who stood out although he spent 10 in the bin for a bit of an indiscretion.

The Tigers lost young fullback Will Black just before the break when he suffered a serious knee injury which looks to have finished his season. Up until that stage Will had been a standout and the Tigers missed him big time when he went off.

Charlie Wykes was also good. He scored a couple of tries and also saved a couple. Good effort Charlie.

The Reggies were never in it losing 48-4 against a fairly slick Macquarie outfit. Our boys were taught a lesson on where they need to be if they are going to feature in the big games at the back end of the season, and at the moment we are a mile off.

The under 18s had the big crowd roaring when they came from behind to snatch a thrilling 22-20 victory in the final 10 seconds to keep their semi-final hopes well and truly alive. Big front rower Sam Taylor was strong. This kid has gone from strength to strength since returning from injury and continues to improve each week. Logan Carter was also good.

Logan is only small in stature but has a mile of ability and is tough as they come. Archie Black and Doc Burley were also very good. Great effort boys.

The girls were very competitive against the highly ranked Raiders and can be well pleased with their efforts.

We went down 20-6 but if we took a couple of chances we had the score could have been a whole lot closer. Grace Farmilo was good. She can play this girl she’s got plenty of speed and is fairly aggressive.

Sophie Johnson was another who went well as did Chloe McCarthy.

This weekend the Tigers will enjoy the bye for the Duck Creek weekend to freshen them up for Magic Round when we take on Lithgow in Dubbo. Should be a great weekend with all games being played at Apex oval in Dubbo over Saturday and Sunday.
